Hundreds of winter items were donated through the annual coat drive by Kerlin Motor Company.
A final count had 914 items donated, which include a mix of coats, scarves and other items to help families keep warm in the upcoming winter months.
Valerie Warner for Kerlin Motor Company said that the generosity of the community amazes her each year. “With this year’s donations, we have collected and distributed to Kosciusko County residents over 23,000 coats since 1999.” Warner said there were many new coats donated, along with six large bags of handmade scarves.
John Parker from Combined Community Services says they are blown away by the generosity. “Approximately 914 people may now confidently enter the winter cold season with a great coat thanks to the generous support of our neighbors!”
Those who could use a coat for the winter can head to CCS on Mariners Drive in Warsaw to look through the items. Parker says no paperwork is required for a coat.
