Owner of Oak & Alley to launch two new concepts in downtown Warsaw

The owner of Oak & Alley is opening a whiskey lounge at the corner of Center and Buffalo Streets. The Times-Union reports David Gustafson has received approval from the Kosciusko County Alcohol and Tobacco Commission for a new license for the location.

The bar is to be called “Anthology”, and is currently located in the basement of Oak & Alley next to City Hall Plaza.

Meanwhile, Gustafson is renovating what was the Great Wall to become and second Oak & Alley location, which News Now Warsaw had the breaking exclusive on back in July.

Now it seems the plan has changed. Gustafason told the Times-Union the current home of Oak & Alley will be altered into a new entity after the first of the year.

The new Oak & Alley is expected to open in October and Anthology could open in November.

Two other updates from our reporting partners at the Times-Union:

• George’s Highlander Bar and Grill recently closed after less than two years of business in Etna Green at the site of the old Etna Pub. A sign in the window suggests it will reopen with a new theme. Hunters BBQ Catering has a website announcing they will open soon. Attempts to seek comment via email failed. Stay tuned.

• Stacy’s in Leesburg, which was damaged in an Aug. 10 fire, will likely reopen after the first of the year. Owner Tyler Haines said damage to the roof was more extensive than first believed. Cause of the late-morning fire was likely electrical in nature, Haines said.
