WARSAW — The two-phase construction project on Park Avenue in Warsaw is progressing slower than expected.

The city of Warsaw issued a statement Monday saying the work being performed by NIPSCO has taken longer than planned due to weather and other complications.

NIPSCO has advised that their completion date is Aug. 7.

After that, the city project will begin with some excavation activities this week, but most of the work cannot be performed until NIPSCO has completed its work to tie over the new gas main and abandon the existing mains.

The city expects work to be done by the end of August.
