Off-duty police officers are never really off duty. That's especially true after an Indiana State Police officer helped save the life of a man Friday at Noble County's Knapp Lake. That's when a paddle boat flipped and Corporal Peter Bradley swam to the aid of 56-year old Randall Nicodemus who was struggling in the water. The state trooper pulled the man to the surface and back to shore. Another adult and two kids, including a 4-year-old, escaped unharmed. Nicodemus was treated at a Goshen hospital.
