The state has reached a settlement with a northwest Indiana propane supplier that overcharged customers during last winter's propane shortage. Ashland Propane Demotte has agreed to provide the affected customers with either a credit to their account or a refund. It's $20,000 in restitution being split with nearly 100 customers. The Attorney General entered into contracts last fall with a set price of about $1.49 per gallon, but as propane prices soared in January, the company told those customers it would not honor those locked-in prices.
