Norfolk and Southern Railroad will completely close the Center and Main streets railroad crossings beginning Monday for infrastructure repairs. The crossings will be closed simultaneously and will be closed for three to four days, weather permitting. As soon as the crossings are repaired, Norfolk and Southern Railroad will be moving to the Market Street crossing for the same infrastructure repairs. The Market Street crossing should be closed for one to two days, weather permitting. The road surface along the railroad tracks will be fully removed from curb to curb so during this time there will be no on-street parking along all of Hickory Street. The approved detour will direct traffic to Winona Avenue. The city asks motorists to avoid the closed streets and follow the marked detours.
