Ralph Alan Gigous of Leesburg, Indiana passed away at 11:34 a.m. on Sunday, May 8, 2022 at Paddock Springs Assisted Living in Warsaw, Indiana at the age of 78.
He was born on October 21, 1943 to Rachel F. (Van Curen) Gigous and Harry R. Gigous, Sr. On October 17, 1970 he was married to Linda Lou Lemler in Nappanee, Indiana. They were blessed with 51 years of marriage together before he passed away.
Ralph was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, Indiana where he was a 1961 graduate of Warsaw High School. In 1962 he started working for R.R. Donnelley and Son’s in Warsaw. At the time of his retirement in 2005 he was working as a pressman. He was a hardworking reliable employee for 43 years as well as making time to serve in the National Guard. Ralph always kept busy and also worked for a number of years at the Clunette Elevator in the fertilizer plant. He enjoyed gardening, camping, woodworking and being a member of the Cushman Club. Ralph was a longtime member of Clunette United Methodist Church where he sung in the choir for over 30 years. He was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Linda L. Gigous (Leesburg, Indiana), two daughters, Lurena (Jason) Kerlin (Warsaw, Indiana), Debra (Eric) Barth (Warsaw, Indiana), and his son: Ezra Gigous (Leesburg, Indiana); daughter-in-law Sherry Gigous (Frankfort, MI.) Also surviving are five grandchildren: Kane (Ashley) Bradley (Claypool, Indiana), Gus, Adora, Bell and Wyly Gigous (all of Frankfort, Michigan); two great-grandchildren, Briggs and Paislee Bradley, as well as his brother, Harry (Barbara) Gigous (Warsaw, Indiana), and his sister: Karen A. (John) Abbott (Medway, Massachusetts). He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Charles Gigous who died July 31, 2013.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2022 from 4:00 -7:00 p.m. at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana. Ralph’s life will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 13, 2022 at Clunette United Methodist Church, 4227 W. 600 N., Leesburg, Indiana and officiated by Pastor Mike Beezley. A graveside service will follow at Stony Point Cemetery in Atwood, Indiana.
