Raymond Long, age 84, of Warsaw, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2021, at 9:30 a.m. in his residence. Born June 21, 1937, in Allen County, Indiana, Raymond was the son of Toby and Ruth Long. He was united in marriage to Carolyn Buell on May 23, 1964.
Ray worked many years at Clausings and Oakwood Cemetery in Warsaw. He was the owner of a Wrecker Service. Ray enjoyed working at the Warsaw Speedway and in 2018 he was inducted into the Warsaw Speedway Hall of Fame. He enjoyed talking on his CB radio for many years and he also installed many towers and antenna’s.
Raymond is survived by his wife Carolyn Long of Warsaw; son, Eldon (Alicia) Long of Warsaw; sister, Marilyn Perish; and 6 grandchildren, Austin, Kayle, Aydon, Lela, and Easton Long, and Alex Kellogg . He was preceded in passing by 2 brothers, George Brockerman and Wayne Long.
A public graveside service will be held at Oakwood Cemetery on Wednesday September 8, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Howard Immell will be officiating the service. McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw have been entrusted with arrangements for the family.
