WARSAW – The famous Habitat for Humanity Women Build is coming back to Kosciusko County this summer.

This is a time for women to come together, volunteer on the build site, and support other women who are going through the Habitat homeownership program.

The event will take place Monday-Saturday, June 19-24 in Claypool.

“Many of our families include single or working mothers who go the extra mile to support their family,” said Ben Logan, Habitat’s executive director.

“This year, the two homes being built are for two single mothers. I cannot think of a better way to encourage them in this process.”

Each day will have 20 available slots for women to sign up and volunteer. Participants will
volunteer from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Lunch will be served.

Registration can be done as an individual or a team of five. There is a $25 registration fee per person, but each participant will receive a t-shirt, lunch and commemorative photos of the event.

Plus, each day will include chances to meet the current homeowners or past women who have been through the Habitat program.

Women interested in participating in this year’s event can join the wait list on Habitat’s
website: kosciuskohabitat.org/womenbuild. Only one entry is necessary for a team. You can also call the Habitat office at (574) 269-4104.

The Women Build is supported by several generous local businesses, including Lake City Bank.

“We rely on the strength of women, who make up nearly 73 percent of our Lake City Bank team members, and we are proud to be part of Habitat for Humanity of Kosciusko County’s Women Build event,” said Kristin L. Pruitt, executive vice president, chief administrative officer.
