WASHINGTON — U.S. Rep. Frank Mrvan spoke on the House floor Tuesday about the bipartisan success of the Jackie Walorski Maternal and Child Home Visiting Reauthorization Act of 2022.
The bill passed the House with a 390-26 vote. It increases funding for services that help new parents and their children with in-home support focused on improving child health and development, family safety and stability, and school readiness.
If passed, the bill would provide more funding for in-home programs that help child development, family safety, stability and school readiness.
Mrvan, a Democrat, represents Indiana’s 1st District in northwest Indiana.
Walorski represented Indiana’s 2nd District, which includes part of Kosciusko County.
She died in a car crash in August.
