Rochester Community Schools has a new tool to catch those who illegally pass school buses.
All 18 of their buses will be equipped with multi-view cameras that engage when the stop arm is out.
WNDU reports the camera images will be able to capture the driver’s license plate as well as the make & model of the vehicle.
The upgrades come after three children were struck and killed, and a fourth seriously injured, while trying to board a Tippecanoe Valley school bus back in October.
The cameras are being installed thanks to community donations, including $10,000 from Woodlawn Hospital in Rochester.
