WARSAW – Kensington Digital Media, along with the Warsaw Parks Department revealed remaining details of the Summer Concert Series in Central Park.
The larger scale concerts have not been performed the previous two years due to the pandemic.
The “Rockin’ Concert for Riley” will feature classic rock band ‘Jefferson Starship’. The concert will be held in Central Park on Friday, June 17, 2022. The concert will serve as a fundraiser for the KC Riley Kids Fund.
The “Country Concert for St. Jude Kids” will feature country artist Tyler Farr. The concert will also be held in Central Park and is scheduled for Friday, July 22, 2022. The concert will serve as a fundraiser for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.”
“We are so excited for this year’s shows,” said Kris Lake, Director of Programming for Kensington Digital Media. “It’s been a long two years without these big shows and I think everyone is ready for them to return.”
Classic Hits 107.3 WRSW partners with the Warsaw Parks Department, and other sponsors, to present the Classic Rock show each summer.
‘Jefferson Starship’ is an American rock band formed in 1974 by a group of musicians including former members of ‘Jefferson Airplane’. Jefferson Starship is one of the most successful arena rock groups of the 1970s and 80s, earning 3 platinum and 8 gold records, as well as numerous Top 40 singles.
Willie 103.5 partners with the Warsaw Parks Department, and other sponsors, to present the Country Concert each year.
Tyler Farr has three No.1 songs to his credit (“Redneck Crazy,” “Whiskey in My Water,” and “A Guy Walks Into a Bar”) and broke onto the scene with the 2013 release of his debut album, Redneck Crazy, which landed at No. 2 on the Billboard Country Albums Chart and #5 on the Billboard Top 200.
“The lineup this year is really thrilling,” Lake said. “We’re so fortunate for our partnership with the Warsaw Parks Department. We’re excited about the shows and this year’s main acts will definitely be here to entertain.”
The Warsaw Parks Department has long been known for hosting the summer concert series in Central Park. Kensington Digital Media (home of 107.3 WRSW, Willie 103.5 and News Now Warsaw) began partnering with the department several years ago. The group of radio stations will also partner with the Warsaw Parks Department on this year’s Lakes Festival (with Blues concerts) and many other events.
