A couple of roads in Warsaw will be closed due to construction. Here are those locations so you can plan alternate routes if needed:
Park Avenue from Main to Arthur Streets
The Warsaw Public Works Department will pave Park Avenue from Main Street to Arthur Street on Tuesday, October 13.
As a result, Park Avenue will be closed between Main Street and Fort Wayne Street, as well as between Fort Wayne Street and Arthur Street. Fort Wayne Street will remain open to thru traffic throughout the closure.
Motorists are advised to plan an alternate route and use caution if they must drive through this area.
Center Street at Hickory Street
Center Street will be closed at the Hickory Street intersection on Wednesday and Thursday, October 14 and 15. Indiana Department of Transportation contractors will be installing a manhole and underground pipe as part of the Hickory Street conversion project.
This project will convert Hickory Street to become a one-way street, with traffic flowing north and south from Center Street. Safety medians, curbing, parking changes, and additional safety signage and signals will also be added to Hickory Street to improve safety when a train is approaching the area.
The recommended detour is Market Street to Park Avenue. Motorists are advised to plan alternate routes and additional travel time.
If work cannot be completed on October 14 and 15, due to weather conditions, this closure will be pushed back to begin on Monday, October 19.
