The Storm Prediction Center outlined Kosciusko County and surrounding areas in a Marginal/Level 1 risk for severe weather on Thursday.
SPC officials in Norman, Oklahoma say that there is some instability in the atmosphere in the area that could contribute to storms that have a damaging wind threat. Temperatures this afternoon in the 80s with dew points in the 60s will also be a supporting factor for the storms.
Isolated thunderstorms could fire after 4 PM, with additional chances after 10 PM as forecast models show a line of storms developing around Chicago, stretching into southwestern Michigan.
