Despite snow being in the forecast several times this week, the season turns to Spring officially on Saturday, and that season brings about severe weather throughout Indiana and many areas of the Midwest.
March 14th to the 20th has been declared as Severe Weather Preparedness Week in Indiana, which includes a variety of topics (below) that the National Weather Service office in North Webster will discuss on each day.
A statewide tornado drill will also be held on Tuesday at 10:15 AM, where the National Weather Service, in conjunction with the Indiana State Police, the Indiana Department of Homeland Security, the Indiana Department of Education, the Indiana Broadcasters Association, the American Red Cross, and Amateur Radio Operators will conduct a statewide test of communication systems.
The drill will include a test of a Tornado Warning, however officials remind the public it is only a test.
