Monday’s rains will help aid in some areas that have been experiencing abnormally dry conditions.
Radar estimates from the National Weather Service in North Webster shows much of Kosciusko County picked up around an inch of rain, especially northeastern areas of the county.
Whitley County saw the heaviest of the rains, where areas around Columbia City and north of US 30 saw over two inches of rain.
While rainfall amounts are still above normal for the year, a lack of rain over the past month has dried out many areas, including in Kosciusko and Marshall Counties where the national drought monitor had put areas under an “abnormally dry” status.
