The monthly Silver Lake Town Council meeting was Wednesday at 7 p.m. where the biggest news item was a demolition bid.
There are three homes in Silver Lake that require being cleaned out and demolished. Green Excavating of Warsaw submitted the only bid for $17,949. This includes cleaning out one trailer with at least a foot of debris lying throughout, according to the council. The council approved Green’s bid and plan to move on the project soon.
In other news, LifeMed sought payment for being the backup EMS service for 2014, though they had no contract with Silver Lake. The council moved to accept a contract provided by LifeMed and to pay the owed amount. LifeMed and Silver Lake do have an active 2015 contract.
The water and sewer budget was approved at $155,320, which will include new CB radios for the department.
Leaf pickup service in the community will likely start next week.
The Lions Club Costume Party will be Oct. 30 while the Harvest Fest will be Oct. 31, with times still to be announced.
Silver Lake will hold its 2016 budget adoption meeting at 5 p.m. Oct. 27 at town hall.
