An investigation is underway into a set of skeletal human remains found at a Steuben County lake. The remains were found by a Hamilton Lake resident near the shoreline on Saturday night. Scuba divers from the Steuben County Sheriff’s Department, Steuben County Underwater Rescue and Recovery Team and Indiana Conservation Officers conducted an underwater search of the area on Sunday and found more possible skeletal remains. The Department of Natural Resources says initial investigation indicated that the remains may be “archaeological in nature.”
