The skeletal remains found in a field, Tuesday, in the 55-thousand block of County Road 27 in Bristol have been identified as those of a woman reported missing in 2014. As part of the investigation local agencies began reviewing active missing person reports. Dental records were used to identify the skeletal remains as Anastacia Cortes Reyes. She was reported missing, by her husband, to Elkhart Police back in August of 2014. She was last seen shopping at a Kroger Store on West Hively. The woman’s mini-van was found with fire damage in Wakarusa shortly after after she went missing. Since that time detectives have followed up on leads and conducted interviews to determine her whereabouts. Cortes Reyes left behind two young daughters. Anthropoligists will now try to determine how the woman died.
