A new program to help inmates overcome addiction will be presented on a weekly basis at the Kosciusko County Jail.
The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department says the Smart Recovery program is being coordinated by A Bridge to Hope. It was presented to staff on Tuesday for a trial deployment in the jail later this month.
Currently there is only one certified facilitator for the program, but A Bridge to Hope would like add a second.
Smart Recovery is alternative to Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous, but those will still be offered in the jail.
Once the Jail Chemical Addictions Program is up and running, Smart Recovery will be offered to those participating in that program as well.
