A South Bend man already in prison for an April 2014 murder is getting an extra, doubly-long sentence for a July 2013 murder.
20-year-old Jermaine Munn Jr. was sentenced to 130 years in prison Tuesday for the shooting and killing of Jarina Bailey, broken up to two separate 65-year prison sentences for Murder and the Criminal Gang Sentencing Enhancement. Add the 65 years in prison he’s already serving for the shooting and killing of Nathan Hall, and Munn’s sentenced to almost 200 years in prison.
Munn shot and killed Bailey while she was at a party at a car wash in the 1800 block of Lincolnway West. She wasn’t his target, but Munn reportedly told officers he didn’t feel bad about shooting Bailey because he had told her to leave the area beforehand.
Munn wasn’t charged with Bailey’s murder until July 2016, three years after the shooting and after he was already behind bars for Hall’s murder.
