A 22-year-old woman is accused of burning an eight-month-old boy with a lighter.
Adara Nicol was staying at a home on Lawrence Street in South Bend. Three children also lived in the home, including the baby. Two adults in the home noticed, back in May, the baby had burn marks on her arms and her back that appeared to be from a lighter. The two discussed the marks and accused Nicol of harming the child. A day later Nicol came to the home with her boyfriend and a fight ensued.
ABC 57 News reports she was arrested and taken to the St. Joseph County Jail on a charge of battery on a person less than 14-years-old. Nicol was placed on pretrial supervision on Monday and she is due back in court early next month.
