Press Release – The state’s official release of Bicentennial Torch Bearers has been delayed. Those who have been selected to be a Torch Bearer will be notified through a letter from the Governor by the end of May and the official public release of names by the state is scheduled for June 17.
The Bicentennial Torch Relay will be in Kosciusko County on the morning of Thursday, September 29. If you are interested in being involved in the torch relay event, exchange supervisors and celebration organizers are needed. Exchange supervisors would oversee a specific torch bearer exchange and would be expected to attend an informational meeting this summer and be available for 2 hours on September 29. Celebration organizers would be expected to attend at least one meeting and be available for set up and tear down of the event on September 29. The entire event will be over by 1:00pm. Service clubs and other groups are encouraged to be involved.
