Statewide efforts in support of more attractive, livable and competitive Hoosier communities are now united under the newly formed Lifelong Indiana Coalition. The Coalition is a collaboration of leading public, private and philanthropic organizations focused on shaping communities Indiana residents of all ages and abilities can make their lifelong homes. Beason says the Coalition is already meeting monthly to establish initial collaborative projects, which could include efforts like providing resources to service providers, convening statewide dialogue between residents and elected officials, and raising awareness about best practices for age- and ability-friendly community building. Once identified, some Coalition initiatives could launch by the end of 2014.
