SINTON, Texas (AP) — An area company is planning to expand in Texas.
Steel Dynamics has announced they are moving forward to build a $1.9 billion flat roll steel mill in Sinton, just north of Corpus Christi. Company officials say they have been working on a business plan for the southwestern US and Mexico for several years.
The new mill will employ about 600 people and produce large coils for the energy, automotive, construction and appliance industries.
Construction could begin early next year.
