It's more than 90 years behind bars for an Elkhart man convicted of dealing cocaine across the street from a church-run youth club. Jonathan McPherson was found guilty back in June of, not only dealing, but being a serious violent felon in possession of a handgun, being a habitual criminal offender and other charges. He was arrested earlier this year after undercover officers made multiple drug purchases from a home on Brady Street. Inside, they confiscated a handgun, ammo, cash and drug-related paraphernalia. The prosecution made note during the sentencing hearing that five children lived in the home where McPherson was dealing. He says he plans to appeal.
