Indiana homeowners with mortgages from SunTrust Mortgage could be getting some money back because of past foreclosure abuses and loan modifications. Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller joined the settlement with 48 other attorney generals, the District of Columbia, the U.S. Department of Justice, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Indiana is expected to receive $685,000 as a result of the settlement. Zoeller says it provides direct relief to borrowers. The agreement requires SunTrust to provide eligible Indiana borrowers with loan modifications or other relief. Zoeller encourages borrowers who believe they might be eligible for a modification to contact a free housing counselor through the Indiana Foreclosure Prevention Network.
