The man who was involved in a police chase in North Webster Wednesday was arrested early this morning on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated with serious bodily injury.
Alexander David Jackson, 24, of 11548 N. Ind. 13, Syracuse, was arrested at 2:21 a.m. today and is being held in the Kosciusko County Jail on a $5,250 bond.
At approximately 6 p.m. Wednesday, police received a 911 call of a possible road rage incident that started near the train tracks on Ind. 13 in Syracuse. The incident between the two drivers continued for nearly 10 miles as they raced south into North Webster. It was reported that Jackson was driving a gray 2003 Dodge pickup and was allegedly shooting a gun at the occupants of a gray 2000 GMC Yukon.
The driver of the GMC Yukon that was being chased by Jackson was identified as Nathaniel K. Boyer, 25, New Paris. Neither Boyer nor his passenger was injured in the incident.
Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department deputy Don McCune responded to the scene, and in an attempt to stop the suspect discharged his weapon, striking Jackson once.
McCune was taken to an area hospital where he was treated and released for injuries he received in the incident.

This case is currently under investigation by the Indiana State Police. More details will be released once the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office has received the ISP’s report.
