SYRACUSE – The Syracuse-Wawasee Chamber of Commerce has adopted a 1-1/2-mile stretch of Ind. 13 to clean up twice annually for several years. On Oct. 28, 18 local volunteers pitched in to collect accumulated debris along that section of road. They covered the area that runs from Railroad Avenue to Palm Drive in Syracuse and collected a total of eight bags of waste. The event takes place once each spring in conjunction with Earth Day in April and again each fall prior to the arrival of winter weather. For the October effort, T-shirts were offered to all participating volunteers, provided by Kelly Jae’s Lakeside, Syracuse.
