A Syracuse man has been arrested for domestic battery, resisting law enforcement, and strangulation. On June 30 Kosciusko County dispatch received a 911 hang up call from a Syracuse residence. Dispatch attempted to call back and received no answer, then sent a text message to the phone and received a text message back, that stated “HELP ME.”
A Syracuse Police Officer arrived and spoke with a female victim who advised she had allegedly been battered by her boyfriend, identified as 25 year old Dustin Wright, and was afraid to call 911 because he was still in the home. Wright allegedly got on top of her and squeezed her neck until she couldn’t breathe. Officers observed red marks on the neck, upper chest area, marks on the arm, and a bite mark on the hand of the victim. Wright refused to cooperate with police and was arrested on Thursday. He is being held on $6,200 bond.
