Teen Arrested for Theft, Juvenile Jurisdiction Waived

A Claypool teen was arrested Friday on a warrant for felony burglary and theft from Creighton Brothers.
Travis Hubler, 18, of 6899 S. Ind. 15, Claypool, was 17 when he allegedly committed the crimes in  May against Creighton Brothers, an egg provider in Warsaw. According to the probable cause affidavit,  Kosciusko County Deputy Prosecutor Christanne Hampton filed a motion to try Hubler as an adult as he is now 18 and his age would not have influenced the alleged crime.
Kosciusko County Superior Court Judge David Cates issued an order Sept. 1 approving the warrant for Hubler’s arrest. Cates also waived juvenile jurisdiction on the grounds that the crimes would be felonies if committed by an adult and that “the acts are part of a repetitive pattern of behavior” as described in Hampton’s motion.
Hubler, who was also charged with misdemeanor criminal mischief, was booked in Kosciusko County Jail with a $10,650 bond  Friday evening.
