Three people were arrested Tuesday after narcotics were delivered to a Silver Lake address through a parcel delivery service.
Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department Public Information Officer Chris McKeand said the county Drug Task Force received information that a parcel containing narcotics would be delivered to 37-year-old Eric McFarland of North Webster.
The Task Force conducted an investigation and found probable cause that the package would be delivered. They obtained a search warrant and conducted an undercover investigation. Officers were able to track the drugs to be delivered through the parcel service and identify who was to receive them. It was also determined that McFarland received multiple such packages in the past.
An officer posed as the delivery serviceman and delivered the package to McFarland in Silver Lake.
McFarland also was arrested on a warrant for possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. He was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 6:32 p.m. Tuesday, with a preliminary bond set at $15,250.
Two other people who were present at the residence at the time of the package delivery were also wanted and arrested on warrants.
31-year-old Daniel Ray Smith of North Manchester, was arrested on a warrant for probation violation.
29-year-old Erica Nicole Bell of Wabash was arrested on warrants for failure to appear.
