The Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation will host youth suicide prevention speaker Jeff Yalden March 2 and 3.
Yalden is a high-energy, tell-it-like-it-is youth motivational speaker and parent communicator, according to a press release from the school corporation. He will provide assemblies for students at Tippecanoe Valley High School and Tippecanoe Valley Middle School with a message about teen depression and suicide that students, staff, parents and the community need to hear, the release states. He also will conduct “QPR for Suicide Prevention” training for students and staff in sixth through 12th grade. A special presentation for parents and the community will be held the evening of March 2 at TVHS.
Grant funding has been obtained to cover a portion of the costs associated with bringing Yalden to Tippecanoe Valley. Additional funding is needed. Anyone that would like to contribute is encouraged to do so, the release states. Contributions will be accepted at the TVSC Administration Office, 8343 S. Ind. 19, Akron, IN 46910.
