A local event will be giving Kosciusko County kids school supplies, but first they need your help.
The Tools for School program serves an average of 1,500 students in Kosciusko County each year, but they need supplies or monetary donations to keep their work going.
Volunteer Ami Pitt tells News Now Warsaw that this is about getting to know and help community members.
“We can be more of a help than just handing you school supplies,” she explains. “We want to be there for you in prayer, kind of shouldering with you, and helping you through the tough time that you may be going through right now.”
Combined Community Service’s Tools for School 2017 will be held at the Kosciusko County Fairground August 2 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Event organizers say the most needed items are as follows:
- Financial donations
- Book bags
- 3-ring binders
- Markers
- Scissors
- Rulers
- Filler paper
- Flash drives
