The National Weather Service confirmed Wednesday that seven tornadoes struck northern Indiana Monday night. The tornadoes ranged from EF-0 to EF-1 in intensity. Kosciusko County saw two tornadoes, an EF-0 and EF-1. The tornadoes destroyed multiple barns, damaged crops and left one boy dead. Wabash/Kosciusko County saw an EF-1 tornado with winds reaching up to 100 mph. It touched down just west of SR 15 in a cornfield. It produced extensive tree and crop damage. On one farm, the storm destroyed a hog barn. An EF-1 tornado uprooted trees in LaGrange, where it carved a one-mile path. It touched down just west of LaGrange, on US 20. The max wind speed was 95 mph. Many trees were uprooted and snapped in half. Marshall County suffered two tornadoes, an EF-0 and an EF-1. That was where an empty semi trailer was flipped. Many trees were also uprooted. Whitley County saw an EF-1 tornado, less than half a mile long. The tornado destroyed a barn and a chicken coop. Many trees were damaged. A nearby horse barn lost most of its roof, and a nearby home and garage sustained minor damage.
