A new chapter for Travel Lite RV will be written in Syracuse as another closes in New Paris.
The recreational vehicle manufacturer is planning a $5 million investment in Syracuse that will include the creation of up to 120 new jobs and the construction of four new buildings, according to the Elkhart Truth.
The buildings are going into 27 acres of land at the Syracuse Industrial and Technology Park at the intersection of U.S. 6 and C.R. 33/S.R. 13.
Each building will house unique facets of their business, according to the Elkhart Truth:
• Building one: A 6,500-square-foot corporate headquarters
• Building two: A 66,000-square-foot manufacturing facility that will include two production lines
• Building three: A 12,000-square-foot custom fiberglass business that will be named Next Level Components
• Building four: A full-service RV dealership that will be named Indiana RV. It will feature two 50-foot bays and Travel Lite products.
Construction will finish either by the end of the year or early next year. Their existing facilities in New Paris will close and about 55 employees will be affected. However, the company says they all have been offered jobs at the new Syracuse facilities.
The new positions will pay between $25 and $30-an-hour. Interested applicants should go to the Travel Lite RV plant at 71913 C.R. 23 to fill out an application or they can call 574-831-3000.
