CHURUBUSCO — Two people died in a snowmobile crash in Whitley County shortly after midnight Saturday.

Whitley County Sheriff’s Office provided basic details, saying the accident happened around 12:30 a.m. on Blue Lake in Churubusco.

The Sheriff’s Office said 44-year-old Robert P. Baker Jr. and 17-year-old Josefine Heger were both traveling on the frozen lake when the crash happened.

No other details were immediately available.

Both were pronounced dead on the scene, and taken to the Northeast Indiana Forensic Center.

The crash remains under investigation.

Whitley County Sheriff’s Office said more details will come from the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.
