A serious water-related incident in Whitley County sends two men to the hospital.
A Warsaw man was attempting to cross over the Collamer Low Head Dam on the Eel River Sunday when he fell out of his kayak. Witnesses tell Indiana Conservation Officers the man was unable to escape the strong circulating current near the face of the dam.
A man from Syracuse then waded out to attempt a rescue, but was also sucked into the circulating current.
A second rescuer was able to bring both men to shore. The two were then airlifted to Parkview Regional Medical Center.
No details have been released on their conditions.
