The United Way of Kosciusko County was a recipient of a COVID-19 Economic Relief Initiative Grant through the Lilly Endowment.
The organization announced the approval of $450,000 on Monday, which will be used to boost the local COVID-19 pandemic response efforts. United Way President Darren Bickel said that 28 percent of families in Kosciusko County were having issues making ends meet even before the pandemic began. Bickel says the grant put the United Way in a “strong position” to help the community deal with the impact of the pandemic.
The COVID-19 Economic Relief Initiative Grant calls for United Ways that receive funding to leverage partnerships and relationships to better meet Covid-19 related-needs, which may include emergency response, as well as recovery efforts.
