Elementary school students and parents will have a choice of another fun program to put kids through over the summer, thanks to the United Way of Kosciusko County.
That program is called “Started United” according to UW president Darren Bickel, speaking at Wednesday’s press conference from Warsaw City Hall. Bickel says the program will be designed to help students who have been out of normal routine over the past few months to get back into their normal agenda and get them ready for the start of the new school year.
Bickel added, “We want to help and rally these kids who have been struggling (during the pandemic) and this summer and get them ready to go.” Bickel also stressed the importance of volunteers for the program, which he estimates 100 to 120 will be needed.
More information on the program for students can be found on either the Warsaw or Wawasee school websites and those interested in volunteering can check out the United Way of Kosciusko County website.
