Indiana DNR sent out an emergency alert last night regarding an armed and dangerous suicidal subject on the loose the Tri-County Fish and Wildlife Area near North Webster.
According to the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, the 20-year-old Ohio man was never was on foot, nor did he have a shotgun as reported by the Department of Natural Resources.
Just after 7pm Sunday, a Kosciusko County Sheriff deputy thought he viewed the suspect vehicle in the area of CR 900 North and CR 850 East, but temporarily lost site of the vehicle with the weather. The vehicle was then located again in the North Webster area by another K.C.S.D. deputy, at which point, officers followed westbound on Crystal Flash Road from SR 13.
Sgt. Floyd Knafel had telephone communication with the subject, at which point the vehicle then stopped in the area of CR 650 North and EMS T-52 lane, North Webster at 7:37 p.m.
The man then exited his vehicle and was taken to the Bowen Center facility in Pierceton on a 24-hour committal by officers.
