The Show Ski Nationals are underway at Hidden Lake.
Fourteen teams are on site from all over the country going for a national championship on the water, with individual competition that began Friday morning, doubles competition in the afternoon, and team competition lined up for Saturday and Sunday.
Executive Director of USA Water Ski and Wake Sports Nate Boudreaux just took over in his position one year ago, and is excited for the event to be in Warsaw. He mentioned it’s a pretty big deal…
The Lake City Skiers are participating in the event this weekend as well and will be skiing in the team competition on Saturday. Kevin Hayes, who played a role in organizing the event on the local level, says the community plays a big role in the national championship being here. He hopes that showcasing the event shows the community what show ski is all about and even get some new people involved.
