The Kosciusko County Visitors Center will celebrate National Tourism Week with a community cookout and open house Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Tourism and travel is Indiana’s sixth-largest industry, according to the announcement from the visitors center. The tourism and travel industry contributes over $81.3 million to Kosciusko County’s economy, with direct expenditures by tourists accounting for $56.2 million of that.
The free, rain or shine event will feature a drawing for an “Experience Kosciusko County” door prize and onsite radio by 107.3 and 103.5. Visitors can listen to music during the cookout and hear community leaders talk about their upcoming summer events.
Event tourism partners are NIPSCO and One Ten Craft Meatery.
