A cumulative capital development fund in Wabash County was delayed due to an error reportedly made by the Wabash Plain Dealer.
The County Auditor told the commissioners the fund wad denied by the Department of Local Government Finance because it was not advertised in the Plain Dealer when requested, according to the Paper of Wabash County.
In order to qualify, the advertisement needed to run a week before the request was made.
A Plain Dealer representative allegedly told the auditor that she was not made aware of the issue until a day after the advertisement was supposed to run, and that the company is short-handed.
This means the fund established in 2002, which would have paid for building repairs and replacement, will not be re-established until 2019.
