KCSD Press Release – A Noble County man, who was sought by law officers throughout northeast Indiana, was taken into custody Tuesday in northern Kosciusko County.
Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Deputies, along with officers from the Syracuse Police Department, responded yesterday afternoon to the location of 6281 East Margaret Drive, Syracuse, after receiving a tip on a wanted & potentially dangerous subject. Officers entered the dwelling and located Timothy Joe Hofmann, 29, hiding under a blanket at the house. As officers were taking Hofmann into custody, they located a handgun in his possession. During the course of the arrest, deputies also discovered that Hofmann was in possession of methamphetamine, marijuana, and several items that were determined to be stolen. Those items included various construction tools, along with a stolen 2003 Honda motorcycle from Noble County.
Hofmann was transported to the Kosciusko County Jail where is being held on a prosecutorial hold at this time on local charges related to the possession of methamphetamine and marijuana. He is also being held for Noble County & Lagrange County Sheriff’s Departments on warrants related to intimidation, resisting law enforcement, possession of synthetic marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, and probation violation.
The Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office advises that the defendant’s charge is merely an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Deputies were assisted with the arrest by officers from the Syracuse Police Department and the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office.
