News Release

WARSAW — The Warsaw Deer Task Force is now taking applications for its annual Deer Task Force program.

Veterans in the program, along with others interested in applying for the first time, must apply on the city website.  To register and obtain more information, visit the city website.

The mission of the Warsaw Deer Task Force is to reduce and maintain the population of deer in a designated nuisance area. The use of archery equipment (compound bow) allows for a safe and ethical means to harvest deer.  This is a low-key approach toward the public and it is in the interest of the Deer Task Force that safety is a top priority.
Applications for 2024-25 must be completed before the Aug. 22 training session at the Warsaw Police Department.
The training will take place from 6 to 8 p.m.  Archers must complete the online application before the training, attend the mandatory training session on Aug. 22nd, and pass the proficiency test using a compound bow the night of the training to be considered for the program.

Participation in previous years’ reduction efforts does not guarantee admittance into the program for the 2024-25 season.  The DTF will continue to evaluate the impact of all policies and procedures after the 2024-25 reduction effort.
