According to E! News Tuesday, though Ben Higgins was booted off “The Bachelorette” on Monday night’s episode, multiple sources have told the entertainment news channel that the 26-year-old was chosen by producers as the next “Bachelor.”
“ABC does not comment on casting rumors, however multiple insiders tell us that producers have decided on Kaitlyn Bristowe’s third runner-up to star in the show’s landmark 20th season this fall,” the E! News website states.
Though Higgins, 26, allegedly has yet to finalize the contract, he is “pretty much a lock,” the website insists.
E! also states that ABC does not plan to make an announcement any time soon regarding the new “Bachelor.”
Higgins was sent packing on “The Bachelorette” Monday night after not having much chemistry with Bristowe, according to E! Two finalists remain on that show.
E! reports that producers feel Higgins would reel in more viewers as “The Bachelor” than the other two finalists.
The website inquisitr.com in April reported Higgins would be one of the bachelors this season trying to get the attention of either Bristowe or Britt Nilsson.
After graduating high school, Higgins went on to graduate from Indiana University in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management.
