News Release
WARSAW — The WCHS Theatre Department invites audiences to step into the (Nether)world of mischief, mayhem, and music with its upcoming production of Beetlejuice JR., the zany, family-friendly adaptation of the Broadway hit and cult-favorite film.
Based on Tim Burton’s movie and the Tony Award-nominated Broadway sensation, Beetlejuice JR. follows Lydia Deetz, a goth teen with a fascination for the afterlife, who’s dealing with the loss of her mother. When Lydia moves into a new home haunted by a recently deceased couple — and the mischievous Beetlejuice himself—chaos, comedy, and catchy tunes ensue.
With toe-tapping music and lyrics by Tony Award-nominee Eddie Perfect and a book by the acclaimed duo Anthony King and Scott Brown, Beetlejuice captured the imagination of a new generation. Now, the junior version brings all the eccentric charm and outrageous humor of the original to life in a one-hour performance perfect for fans of all ages.
