A Warsaw man lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a parked train Sunday morning.
The 41-year-old drove home and called the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office to report the collision.
He told deputies he was driving on Old 15 when he lost control of his vehicle, left the roadway, then overcorrected, causing him to leave the west side of the road and crash into a parked train boxcar owned by Norfolk & Southern.
He stated his cellphone was dead, and that no passersby had stopped to help him, so he had to drive home to report the wreck.
He suffered injuries to his left knee and left hand and was taken by ambulance to Kosciusko Community Hospital.
The crash caused an estimated $25,000-$50,000 in damage to the boxcar’s ladder and to other mechanical parts of the train, according to a KCSO report.
