A Warsaw man was arrested Sunday for sexual battery after allegedly assaulting a woman earlier this month. According to an affidavit filed by the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office, an officer spoke to the woman on July 13th who advised 34 year old Michael Ray McCord of Warsaw, came to her residence to repair her van. McCord wanted to test drive the vehicle so the woman told police she went with him because she was afraid McCord would steal the vehicle. The woman told police that after they stopped at Meijer to get gasoline, McCord drove down a dirt road behind Biomet and drove off the roadway and parked. The woman stated McCord exited the van and used the bathroom, then asked her to exit the van also. She told police she did and alleged McCord then began touching her inappropriately. She stated she kept telling McCord to stop. She alleged McCord then pushed her to the ground and exposed himself. The woman said when she began screaming, McCord told her “no one would hear her screams.” She stated McCord eventually stopped while she continued to say no. The officer then spoke with McCord who admitted he parked the van down a dirt road on CR 200N in Warsaw and admitted he touched and kissed her inappropriately. He said the woman did tell him not to touch her but he attempted to anyway. He admitted he knew what he did was wrong. McCord was arrested Sunday on a preliminary charge of sexual battery and held on a $2,000 bond.
